Before transitioning into User Experience, I was a journalist/reporter and have worked for renowned Hong Kong media such as Television Broadcast Limited and South China Morning Post. This probably explains why I can easily empathize with people and step in others’ shoes, which is essential in UX. My interview skills horned in my journalism days translates into UX research, which is why I enjoy participating in crafting and conducting UX researches. I also have a naturally-critical pair of eyes (someone call it nitpicking) when it comes to copy and texts; combined with years’ experience in copy editing, I can easily spot inconsistencies and errors when gatekeeping customer-facing materials.
